The Homesteader: Maggie
Named after my great grandmother, Maggie, the Homesteader, this lovely bar debuted in 2023. When we were thinking of what to bring you that was new, we decided to try something we hadn't before. This soap is almost 100% locally rendered tallow with a hint of olive oil.
Tallow and Lard are the original superstars of the soap world and are making a big comeback right now because of eco-responsibility and great skin benefits.
It's what your great grandmothers and their great grandmothers used for homemade soap and body butter! Tallow is gentle and creamy on the skin, giving you a lovely, hard bar of soap.
For the essential oils, we used a combination of ylang ylang, grapefruit, orange, geranium, and litsea for a beautiful aromatic experience.

Soap Care
We’ve found that if we treat our bars with care, they last well over a month.
Follow these simple steps to keep your bar in excellent condition and to help it last last longer:
- Keep your bar out of the water when not in use.
- A little goes a long way! Wet your soap lightly and suds up a loofah or use the bar directly on your body and then set it outside the water stream immediately

Hand-cut, naturally made
Every bar we make is hand-cut and made in small batches. Each bar is approximately 5 oz in size unless otherwise noted. We recommend cutting your bar in half to prolong the life of your soap. Due to the fact that we don't use artificial colorants, there are variations in color
